In my life I have made several important decisions in different aspects.
Professionally, one day I discovered that I was not happy with my job: it was not rewarding, it took me too much time to be with my family and to see my daughter grow up, I was too stressed… and if I don’t like something, I work hard to change it.
That’s why I took a new path: to create my own company, Español with Carmen, to do what I really like and how I like it.
Training and professionalism are very important to me, so I decided to study the Master of Spanish as a Foreign Language Teacher at the University of Malaga, and I did a research work on online and one to one teaching. It was a fascinating experience. I also accredited as a DELE examiner at the Instituto Cervantes.
Now I am really happy with my job. I feel very fortunate to dedicate myself to sharing my knowledge and my love for Spanish, and even more fortunate to develop my work with interesting people, who contribute to me and from whom I learn.

Ser parte de Women’s Talk in Spanish ha sido una experiencia inolvidable para mí. He hecho nuevas amigas, mujeres inteligentes, divertidas y cariñosas que, como yo, les gusta hablar de la vida y les encanta el español. El cuaderno de trabajo que Carmen envía antes de cada sesión me ayuda a preparar el tema y mejora mi vocabulario. Yo descubrí a la profesora Carmen Teixeira por casualidad, buscando en Youtube videos para aprender español de nivel bastante alto. Cuando la encontré, me di cuenta de que su curso era exactamente lo que yo estaba buscando desde tiempo.
Antes de cada sesión, de una hora y media una vez por semana, Carmen nos envía un Cuaderno de trabajo con preguntas para reflexionar sobre el tema del que vamos a hablar durante la clase de conversación. Podemos hablar mucho, porque solo hay cuatro personas en cada grupo, y a poco a poco las compañeras y Carmen nos estamos convirtiendo en amigas. ¡Os lo aconsejo a todas!

Who are these conversation groups aimed at?
These groups are designed for students of Spanish as a foreign language (ELE) who are looking to improve their conversational skills, grammatical knowledge, vocabulary and oral comprehension in an interactive and dynamic environment.
What level of Spanish do I need to participate?
These classes are designed for students of Spanish at intermediate B2 or advanced level (C1/C2).
How do the conversation sessions work?
This is followed by a discussion of any doubts that each student may have about the text they have read and worked on previously.
Finally, each student will give a short presentation or opinion on the text read, encouraging interaction with the aim of practising conversation in Spanish.
What kind of texts are used in the sessions?
We use a wide variety of written texts, such as literary texts by Spanish-speaking authors, as well as journalistic texts or literary essays.
The texts are carefully selected in order to increase the students’ knowledge of the Spanish language and to deal with topics of interest that will stimulate discussion among the students.
What benefits will I get from participating in these conversation groups?
By participating in our Readers’ talk in Spanish reading and conversation groups, you can:
- Improve your fluency and oral comprehension of Spanish.
- Expand your knowledge of Spanish grammar, vocabulary and expressions.
- Develop your confidence to speak Spanish in different contexts.
- Practice conversing with other learners of Spanish from different countries.
- Learn about Spanish-speaking culture through literature.
How do I join a group?
To join one of the groups, you just have to subscribe once, indicating the group you wish to join. From that moment you will belong to the group and you will receive an email with instructions to follow.
The corresponding monthly bank charge will be made automatically.
What do I do if the group I am interested in is full?
Don’t worry about it. On the same page where you subscribe you also have a form to join the waiting list and I will notify you as soon as there is a vacancy.
How do I unsubscribe from the group, is there a minimum subscription period?
The subscription can be cancelled at any time and will no longer be renewed at the end of the current period.
There is no minimum subscription period. You can always cancel your subscription freely and free of charge.
